Service providers

These are the outside service providers ("subprocessors") that process information for Tari, operated by Narkoc Inc. We update this list before a new provider goes live.
Google Firebase and Google Cloud
- Purpose
- Sign-in, encrypted sync, storage, notifications and the servers behind the app and this website.
- Location
- United States
- Information
- Account and profile details; theatre lists, chats and case photos in end-to-end encrypted form only; notification addresses for your devices.
- Safeguards
- Encrypted in transit and at rest. Clinical content is end-to-end encrypted on top, so these servers hold data they cannot read.
Tari AI server
- Purpose
- Reads photographs of patient documents, and checks vitals charts for identifying details.
- Location
- Cape Town, South Africa
- Information
- Images of theatre lists, patient sheets and vitals charts.
- Safeguards
- Operated for Tari alone. Images stay in South Africa and go to no other AI company.
OpenAI
- Purpose
- Drafting, tidying and standardising text, billing-code lookup, the help and contacts assistants, reading vitals-chart pages that have been cleared of identifying details, and speech-to-text for some languages on Android.
- Location
- United States
- Information
- Text with identifying details removed first; cleared vitals-chart pages; dictation audio from Android devices.
- Safeguards
- Encrypted in transit. Identifying details are removed before text is sent. Information sent through OpenAI's API is not used to train its models, and may be held for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring under OpenAI's own terms.
ElevenLabs
- Purpose
- Speech-to-text for dictation on Android devices, for some languages.
- Location
- United States
- Information
- Dictation audio from Android devices. iPhone and iPad transcribe on the device and send nothing.
- Safeguards
- Encrypted in transit. Tari does not keep the audio after transcription.
Google (Gemini API)
- Purpose
- Speech-to-text for dictation on Android devices, for some languages.
- Location
- United States
- Information
- Dictation audio from Android devices. iPhone and iPad transcribe on the device and send nothing.
- Safeguards
- Encrypted in transit. Tari does not keep the audio after transcription.
Apple and Google Play
- Purpose
- Distribute the Tari apps and test builds.
- Location
- United States
- Information
- Tester email addresses and app download records. No patient information.
- Safeguards
- Governed by each store's own developer terms.
